Two Millions Added by State Board on Livestock Valuations
County Assessor Geo. W. Tanner was informed that the state board of equalization amended the 1914 livestock valuations certified earlier. Calves coming yearlings rise from 15 to 18 per head and cattle yearlings and over from 40 to 46 per head, boosting the state's assessable cattle value by about 2.469 million dollars. State Tax Commissioner John McGill pressed for higher valuations. the state auditor Robert B. Forsyth and the board secretary say the rise still lags behind true worth and note sheep valuations remain higher than cattle under the new scheme.
