A Bad Case of Frozen Limbs

Chas McDonald, a youth from Big Piney, suffered frozen limbs while pitching hay. He underwent surgery at a focal hospital last Thursday, losing part of a foot, with hands badly affected. James Mickelson contributed 15 dollars, the county 20, and funds raised to send him to California, where his father lives. he departed last Monday.

Stabbed Companion A Morning Robbery Incident

In Cumberland a man named Kosenen was arrested after stabbing John Lark during a christening. Lark, under escort, defended himself from the drunk assailant who drew a knife and fled. Kosenen faced aggravated assault charges and was fined. Two robbers later hit the Miners' Exchange saloon, threatening bartender Frank Lark, seizing cash and valuables, then fleeing. Both suspects were captured and pled guilty at a preliminary hearing, awaiting penitentiary sentencing.

Convicted murderers brought back to Lincoln County jail

Matt Cire, Dan Parker, and P Ohama, three Lincoln County murderers sentenced long ago, were brought back from Hawlins Penitentiary to await the May term of the county court for new trials as ordered by the Supreme Court. Sheriff McMinn escorted other inmates to the penitentiary following Judge Arnold's sentences.

Accident Leaves a Broken Leg in Mine Incident

Death Calls Two Pioneers Bishop Stevenson Dies in Diamondville

Bishop John Hendry Stevenson of Diamondville dies suddenly at 43 from heart disease linked to long rheumatism while serving as an engineer and church leader. He was born in Scotland in 1864 and moved west in 1883 joining the Moravian Church community. He was set as a bishop in 1908 and leaves five children and a widow.
