A reported pro tem tactician in Kemmerer indicates an amendment to the Mothers Pension law is likely this week. The proposed change would require two to three years of residency to collect benefits and may shift award power to county commissioners.
A snowslide in Fall Creek near Jackson buried trapper Sam Massey beneath deep snow while his brother Jim watched. Searchers later found Sam on the opposite side after misdirection, and funeral services were held in Wilson. The Massey family had moved from New Mexico to near Jackson’s hole last summer.
Henry McBride aged 43 died at Lincoln County Miners Hospital after two weeks in Kemmerer and a period of treatment for a failing mind. He had been moved to American Fork Utah for burial per the instructions of Roy McBride, his son and a Jackson Hole rancher.

The landowner hopes warmer weather will end the outbreak.

F B Brooks confined in the local jail on a charge of obtaining money under false pretenses was arraigned before Justice Holland Tuesday and pleaded not guilty. A preliminary hearing is set for the 17th. Attorney Melvin represents the defendant. Brooks obtained $25 from Mischler Brothers in a legal manner.
The county commissioners threaten license revocation at the March meeting for saloons allowing girls in bear dancing. Dan Griff’s saloon is denied a license and closed after he reportedly refused to run the place without dancing girls.
Charles Rossi was rushed to Lincoln County Mineral Hospital after a collision in the Frontier No 4 mine left him with a broken collarbone and a dislocated hip. A doctor reported this morning Rossi is progressing well.
The Superintendent of Water Division No. 4 will be in Kemmerer on March 1 and 2 and in Cokeville March 5 and 6 to take proof of water under permits issued by the State Engineer’s office. R. B. Carron, peat Supt Water Division No. 4.
