Dr Sanders Called to Ft. Wayne for Army Duty

Dr. R. H. Sanders, a second lieutenant in the medical division, received a government call and left last Friday for Ft. Wayne to be stationed for an extended period. His wife will stay with parents in Arkansas during the war. The couple, longtime Kemmer residents, had served Frontier as company doctor and were affiliated with Hooker, Stafford & Sanders. Dr. Roe, formerly of Sublet, will replace him.

Hotel Kemmerer prowler chased by detective in midnight incident

At about midnight a man prowling the upstairs hallway of the Hotel Kemmerer was spotted by Detective Billy Knowles of the 0. 5. S. The suspect fled toward a fire escape but was chased and apprehended on the street. The county jail saw one inmate increase as a result. Also noted are Lon Stepp and Alfred Hamp visiting from the Green River valley during Christmas shopping.

Pin Found in Appendix After Miners Hospital Operation

Johnson, a Diamondville mine worker, underwent appendectomy at Miners' hospital. During surgery a pin was discovered in his appendix. He is recovering and keeps the pin as a souvenir of the operation.

Polaris Company Leases Drive Three Rigs to Dry Piney District

Polaris Petroleum, formed recently, signed three leases on April 16 1918 to place standard rigs in the Dry Piney district. B A Woodruff of Oklahoma’s Target Refining and Oil Co holds five sections. Charles K Costello of Idaho Wyoming Oil Co leased another section. Dr H E Opre, representing Palmrin Company for Chicago, also secured a lease and arranged for a standard rig. Each rig must be on site by April 1hth per contract.

The Lincoln Securities Company is incorporated to conduct a brokerage business in Kemmerer. J Parker Thompson serves as president and general manager, CG Bicker as secretary, and Howard as vice president and salesman. Mrs Howard departed Saturday for Chicago to manage sale of Lincoln Wyoming Petroleum stock.

Californians Invest Keenly in Fossil Field Visit

Col W T Dick and Oscar Thomas of Imperial valley arrived in Kemmerer to study the oil prospects. After purchasing Lincoln Wyoming Petroleum stock they were impressed by Fossil Field showings and increased their investment. Both are successful cotton raisers from the Imperial valley describing that region as highly promising. Canteloupes are being planted at this weapon.

Big Frank Tigner Seeks Standard Rig for Green River

Big Frank Tigner a drier and feld man for the Green River Petroleum Company plans to spend Christmas at his Robinson home. En route he will stop at points in Kansas hoping to locate a standard rig to be placed on Green River holdings early in the spring.

The Idaho Wyoming Oil Co drills a well to 242 feet at Fonsil sta Mon and awaits the pump return to determine capacity. Neighbors report a morning yield of about 45 gallons without lowering the pump, fueling speculation on potential output.

W T Wood of the Wood Of Development company plans to open offices in Kemmerer after returning from Tein Falls. The firm will operate from the former Kemmerer Taxi drivers room in the Kemmerer Hotel and soon announce stock for sale through Kemmerer Brokerage Company. The Kemmerer firm expects to move into a new building behind Bran days and sublet the space via the brokerage firm.

Chicago man to set oil rigs in Big Piney and Fossil fields

After Standard Rig or H A Opre of Chicago returns to Chicago, he will arrange one large standard oil rig for the Big Piney field and a smaller rig for the Fossil field. Dr Opre and Chicago associates have secured leases in local oil fields and expect rigs on the ground before spring at optimal drilling points.

De Long Explores Local Oil Prospects with Partners

M. Pe Long, previously with the Domini-Wyoming Company at Capper, visited Kemmerer last week to inspect the area for potential oil development with associates. He then traveled to Carter and reviewed the oil outlook in that region, with reports that he may secure holdings here and organize a drilling venture.

Honorably Discharged RAF Yancy Cadet Returns from Camp Green

Isa Haddon of RAF Yancy, mother of a son in Ca. 1, has returned to Kammerer from Camp Green. He is remembered for accidentally shooting himself through the font while on guard duty at the tunnel. The ine jury rendered him ineligible to serve. Private Coggina, bugler for Co. H, returned and stayed several days in town. Both boys received honorable discharges.

Suit Filed Against Cretaceous in Lease Controversy

A group buying about 24 percent of Cretaceous stock last December seeks a court order forcing the company to issue a lease to option holders.
