Lincoln County Fair at Afton Wyoming runs September 26 to 28. Read the fair rules and premium lists from the secretary to guide exhibit selection. Label each entry with name, address, variety, and class, then prepare best grain potatoes and garden produce for judging.
Earl G. Reed, Lincoln County agricultural agent, outlines judging criteria and preparation steps for grain, forage crops, potatoes, fruits, and vegetables. Emphasizes true variety, uniformity in size and color, absence of defects, neat packaging, proper labeling, and timely delivery.
A plea from P. L. Corbin, secretary of the Y M C A Fort Russell, asks state readers to supply books, records, a small automobile, and other items to aid enlisted men. The letter notes free services, writing facilities, Bible classes, and religious activities, inviting public involvement and depot support. Additional items include road books and phonograph records, with suggestions to ministers and congregations to contribute through a central collection point.
A Danish Pioneer offers a crude mock ballad in which Kaiser Wilhelm boasted of plans to crush France, take Britain to task, and seize Belgium’s ships. The speaker imagines pressuring England’s king and turning the French and British fleets into surrender, ending with sunk ships.
Mrs. C. W. Talcott of Topagat endorses Down's Kidney Pills after her child benefited from them. She recounts previous kidney trouble and lack of bladder control, noting the remedy strengthened and regulated the kidneys. Sold for 60 cents at City Drug stores. Foster Milburn Co., Buffalo, N.Y.
