County teachers gather in Kemmerer for the Fifth Annual Lincoln County Teachers Institute with Chautauqua attendance optional. Program runs August 28 to September 1 featuring sessions by Professors Pease and Duff, recitals, concerts, and a community lecture plan organized by Margaret F. Nicholson.
James P. Rosenberg reports from Oregon that his youngest brother Harry, living in Prineville, has been commissioned to the medical department and has gone to Fort Douglas. The Rosenbergs have strong volunteer representation and two sons in the Wyoming national guard, plus two nephews in the service.
Monday noon the fire department responded when a fire started at the home of Mrs. Fred Weyeneth. An iron left on overheating ignited clothes on the ironing board, but neighbors assisted and the fire was extinguished with little damage.
A Kemmerer committee announces a single big ticket day for the Chautauqua next week. Local business men from Kemmerer Diamondville and Frontier will sell limited tickets at 2.50 each, with later price increases. Ticket buyers will gain admission to twelve top entertainments. Buy early on Thursday morning.
The town of Kemmerer gears up for a Chautauqua running from August 2 to September 2 with an advance agent on site. A location is yet to be chosen and published. Tickets go on sale Wednesday with a limit of 460 copies. if not reached, sales continue at advance prices until the goal is met.

Word from Ralph W Smith, a Sacramento lawyer, reports the appointment of a former Kemmerer lawyer to the Reserve Corps in Sacramento. The new appointee, once a leading young attorney in Kemmerer, will enter the Presidio at Sacramento soon, drawing glad reaction from his many friends.

Mr. Walters drives and leaves many Kemmerer friends wishing him well wherever they may locate.
District Ranger Davin and assistant Lee Johnson oversee a temporary camp in Fall River Canon to watch for fires. They perform light road work while monitoring conditions and ensuring rapid response readiness. Local ranchers and ore road crews recently received heavy attention from forest authorities.
Milam Overly leads crews across multiple stations as track work continues. The large construction bank line from Kenmer to Big Piney progresses with sections new and repairing, amid laws allowing crews to proceed and plans to restore service with expected waves of activity.

During a rainstorm near Cokeville Mrs Reynolds was struck, burning her hat and clothes and injuring her face hands and limbs. The Granger hotel built for J. K. Stinson and HIN is nearly complete and should finish by September 15. It promises to serve travelers with ample, newly furnished accommodations, eliminating the need to press on to Green River.
The many friends of B H Davie, longtime Kemmerer high school principal, learn he has been appointed superintendent of the Columbia Montana High School. Local well wishers predict he will earn enthusiasm and support from the community as he did in Kemmerer.
