Frank Cook’s barn fodder grain hay and harness and many tools were burned when a fire swept the farm a mile south of Weta on Thursday. Mrs. Cook left to milk neighbors for a short time and returned to find the blaze too far advanced to save anything. Neighbors started a fund to aid the Cooks in this loss. In the same issue the Ka doka Farmers Institute near this city featured Prof J W Bopp and Mr C V Gardner discussing soils dry farming and the dust mulch with practical farming advice and corn contest results led by M E Dixon Henry Olson Geo Burgman and others. A presidential proclamation declares November 26 as a day of Thanksgiving and prayer by Theodore Roosevelt with ceremonial text included.
