Taft Sweeps Nation as South Dakota Favours Republicans

Taft leads nationwide with broad Republican gains in the Midwest and beyond. South Dakota tilts Taft by about 20 000 with Vessey elected governor, while northern states widely back the ticket. Bowen Murder Case Change of Venue Granted

Judge Lyman T. Boucher granted the motion for a change of venue in the Bowen murder case after hearings at Eureka. Halloween Pranks End With Kangaroo Court in Kadoka

On Halloween the town endured pranks as white robed figures warned “Beware of Tommy the Kisser.” Damages were minor but chickens pigs and dogs were moved into the street. Vic Wolff held a warrant for Edgar Dykeman and Mike Rohan, and the Kangaroo Court, led by Justice Stevenson, settled fees at 26 cents each, releasing the youths after a joking verdict.

J W Welsh officiated as seventy five guests attended after the couple shared a three course wedding breakfast before leaving for a two week honeymoon to Chicago en route to Kadoka.
