Another Version of the Pruden-Persvick Affair

A letter from the Press refutes an earlier account of a July 4 incident. Persvick and a neighbor accuse Clyde Pruden and his wife of stealing groceries and a flour sack, claim they intercepted them, and say Pruden confessed when pressed. The writeup argues the new narrative is closer to truth and seeks fair portrayal.

Town Well Completed In Union With Kommercial Klub

E. R. Somers of Ft Dodge Iowa visited Hotl Dacotah. The town’s well, dug and supervised by the Kommercial Klub, is finished and accepted by town trustees. A curbing and pump are in place for public use, inviting farmers and residents to rely on the ample water.

Bids Sought for New School Building in Franklin District

Sealed bids due by August 17 1908 to tear down old 12 by 16 foot school and build a new 16 by 24 by 9 foot structure in section 28 township 2 south range 21 east. Plans call for box sill joists studs rafter spacing and cedar shingles with tar paper exterior and red resin paper interior. Construction must finish by September 10 with bids opened at 2 pm at the school house. Charles Holcomb clerk reserves right to reject any bid.
