In full uniform and with Civil War Veterans from the sixties, about four hundred people joined the main parade. Before the monument services a quartet sang Mustered Out and Angel of Peace, earning heartfelt appreciation from the audience.
William Fox of near Brandon's Bridge was arrested after a quarrel ended with him flinging a feed-box at his wife, knocking her unconscious. He faced lunacy commission proceedings and was held on $250 bonds as authorities sought clarity on insanity.
Herbert E. Annis aged 40 of 2023 Cass street was found dead in James W. Roy's barn at 1112 E. Washington street and believed to have died from heart failure after a period of heavy drinking. Co worker O Patterson found him alive at about 6 30 Saturday morning before death occurred. The coroner's jury attributed death to natural causes.
Rev. R Edward Sayles urged his congregation noting a May magazine editorial on Harvesting Wild Oats. He warned that moral and physical improprieties breed punishment as the seeds of immorality grow into habit. A seventh smallpox case was reported to Joliet health authorities in the last two weeks. A man living at 368 South Joliet street was removed to the pest house southwest of Joliet and his residence fumigated. Earlier cases are improving.

Rudolph Gottlieb, a Chicago commission man, sued Max Cohn alias Ike Brody for 500 dollars for a carload of potatoes secured under false pretenses. A jury awarded Gottlieb 475 dollars after an hour of deliberation, finding Cohn made willful fraudulent and male representations to defraud.
A laborer named Jas McGee was found semi conscious in a wreck at Railroad and McDonough streets early today. He was taken by ambulance to the police station for examination after suffering from tremens and alcohol intoxication.
Edward Lawrence sues the Village of Channahon for 1000 dollars claiming auto damage after a bridge over the Dupage river near the I M canal failed. Lawrence, aided by Louis Lagger, argues the structure was state owned and responsible, while Louis J. Drew defends for Channahon alleging state ownership and maintenance.
