Marital Dispute After Aurora Wedding Ends In Legal Action

Marguerite Louise Proctor Jones of Aurora seeks to annul her marriage to Edward Forest Jones of Chicago after a short union beginning April 1. She charges theft of $57 cash, a watch, and a ring, plus intoxication and abandonment after eight days. The couple left for Chicago where she separated from him. Roberts cites lack of family support in the United States. The case is filed in Kenecounty court with service planned on Jones.

William Davis alias Bloomington Red, a famed gang leader, is held in Chicago charged with complicity in the $4,600 Hammond Indiana jewelry store robbery. James Murphy a Joliet prison parolee released to Chicago custody 48 hours earlier fled in a car stealing a diamond brooch from women in a reckless drive. Patrolman Peter O'Reilly captured him and he was jailed to return to Joliet to finish his term for a prior holdup of a woman ticket agent on the elevated line.

Buick Automobiles Stream In On Joliet Throughput

A train of thirty freight cars carrying over one hundred Buick automobiles arrives at Joliet yards from the E J E R R and will transfer to the Santa Fe tonight and remain till Monday morning. Valued over 125000 dollars the shipment includes six Buick models headed for Kansas City and the west. This marks a second large Joliet Buick shipment in two weeks following a 15 car consignment on April 19. Local representation is by Robert C Bruce.

A message from Robert W. Campbell says President Banks approved the 20 foot viaduct at Jackson Street. The remaining issue is titles to certain property. Harvey Wood will visit Chicago next week to finalize terms with the railroad. The commission had pressed for 24 feet but settled on 20.
