Aurora Officials Prepare Testimony Against Noted Suspect

Police from Aurora and a newspaper man plan to testify in Keebuk Iowa against Citawaga Bulawa, a recently released Joliet prisoner charged with murder. James Lino provided the original confession. In Clinton Tasmania May 1 the state finished its murder testimony in the Irene Dolph case. The defense kept out most evidence from Halferan and statements by Dolph’s mother Mrs. Goldsmith of Joliet. The prosecution showed Dolph visited Mrs. Goldsmith. her memory failed on the night of the shooting. The defense plans to move to dismiss arguing no clear case. Dolph, accused of shooting her husband in his sleep, surrendered after a hurried trip to Clinton.

Man Faces Grand Jury In Mayhem Case

Charles Douglas will face the grand jury on a mayhem charge for attacking his wife Mabelle Douglas in their State street home last Tuesday night. Doctors report her eye was removed and police acted promptly. Douglas pleaded not guilty and a ten day hearing was set to allow the state to gather evidence.

Body Identified After Fatal Bridge Accident

The body recovered from the Sanitary District channel at Lockport has been identified as Samuel Nathan a peddler who drove from the east approach of the Twelfth street bridge on November 12. Frank Schey his brother in law identified the remains and they were shipped to Chicago for interment. The horse wagon and driver disappeared over the embankment and were never found. Nathan was believed intoxicated at the time of the accident and two whisky bottles were found on his body.
