Picnic day for Joliet Sunday schools attendance soars

Joliet children and families gathered at Deilwood Park for the first annual Sunday school picnic hosted by city pastors and committees. About 1,500 riders arrived via streetcars, with a big noon dinner and afternoon baseball. Municipal officials ordered muzzling dogs, theater inspections, and road right of way sprinkling, while issuing tax warrants and handling insurance and legal notices.

House Fumigated After Diphtheria Quarantine Lifted

A residence at 209 Leach Avenue, previously quarantined for diphtheria, was fumigated today by health authorities and the family released. The notice states there is no diphtheria in the city. Also, a dance at Electric Park occurs every Tuesday and Thursday evening.
