The fifth annual encampment of United Spanish American War veterans, Illinois department, opens in Joliet with delegates arriving from across the state. A 1:30 p.m. street parade and 7 p.m. dress parade at Dellwood Park are planned, with Major events including a military ball and speeches by William E. Mason and others.

Jno Rogena, an insurance agent, files for absolute divorce claiming wife Josephine Rogena twice attacked him with a large butcher knife. He states an August 1906 incident left his thumb nearly severed. he also cites habitual intoxication and weekly drunken sprees. The pair married October 23 1901 in Lockport. York Avenue residence. Rogena is held to await grand jury action with bonds set at 100 dollars. Robert Meister named as surety.
