Mr. N. B. Friesen and his son John A. Friesen were wheeled home in an invalid chair after amputation. Family reports the wound healing and doctors expect relief from pain within about a month. A Sunday visit to the Thiessen home in the company of relatives marked a hopeful moment as Friesen grows stronger.
The Interior Department seeks a 100 million dollar bill to create cooperative farm settlements for discharged soldiers and sailors across the United States. Land, water, land clearing, and drainage projects will employ veterans who will later select improved farms and pay over time with low interest rates.
The Northrop Trio, noted versatile musicians, will perform at the Rex Theatre in Jansen on Tuesday evening March 4. The group was previously announced for a November date but delayed by the flu outbreak. Attendance is expected to be high as the Lyceum course continues to please local audiences.

John A Krause returns from Paxton Nebraska and plans a western move. Births include a baby girl to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob C Friesen of Meade Kansas on Feb 24 and a baby boy to Mr. and Mrs. Peter T Brandt on Feb 17. Local residents and visitors from Fairbury Jansen Plymouth and Meade appear in social notices and illnesses.
