The Woman's Club announces a Thursday night program at Raptel's Hall on February 22. Tickets cost 0 1 cent, offering entertainment by local vocalists and instrumentalists, readings, and speeches followed by ice cream and cake. Proceeds benefit club activities.
About forty percent of the school were absent amid illness. Eighth graders received First Palmer Letters excusing them from the Penmanship Exam. The County basketball tournament heads to Diller on March 3 with Ben Oltman and Frank Hertzel attending a county conference at Fairbury. Miss Nolter returns after a week’s sickness. IRS filing period runs January 1 to March 15, 1923. thresholds trigger returns for 1922 income. Forms available at banks or from the Omaha Collector of Internal Revenue.
Dan Brandt will occupy part of the hall for a carpenter shop after March first and A F Rempel will use another part as a paint shop. Rempel plans outdoor painting and repainting of telemovies and vehicles this season. Brandt has wintered in carpentry and aims to secure space for MOP work.
Hunt Back, former barber, arrives Jansen Tuesday and plans a sale of sold goods at public auction Saturday afternoon. He is relocating to Denver to join a firm selling automobile accessories and will reside in Jansen during the remainder of the week for sale preparations.

The barber shop abandoned by H. G. Hunt has reopened Friday with Wo. McPharland from Reynolds as the new barber. C. F. Barnes, once a barber in Jansen, helped locate McPharland, whose work already pleases customers.
The annual Hampshire sow sale by Lindgren and Nider will be held at Fair grounds in Fairbury on Wednesday February 28. Forty Hampshire bred sows are offered with descriptive catalogues being printed this week.
Henry F. Rempel sold his east town residence to Katie S. Friesen who will move in with her aged mother Mrs. John 8 Friesen. Rempel bought the Mary T. Friesen property now occupied by R. H. Leonard and will move there once Leonard vacates. Jacob A. Rempel rented the John S. Friesen place north of town and will farm, after years on highway maintenance.
