Several local men from Jansen and vicinity came home from Camp Dodge and Camp Custer after discharge. Henry Zimmerman, one of the first sent overseas, and George R. Wipf are among those safe and unwounded. Others, including B. Buller and Elmer Olson, also returned with no major injuries, while some wounded or gassed servicemen remain convalescing in army hospitals.
