Achtemeier Boy Suffers Wire Cut on Face

An eight year old boy, but son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Achtemeier who live southeast of town, sustained a severe barbed wire cut on his left cheek Monday evening while bringing the cows home from the pasture. A loose wire in the lane snagged the boy and the wound was dressed. the family expects little or no lasting scar.

Lectures on China by Mennonite Brethren missionary Wiens

F J Wiens missionary from China gave lectures at M B Church this week detailing a six day siege in a Chinese city and the ongoing Christianization efforts. Jansen Auto Co Upgrades with 600-Gallon Tank and Modern Pump

A large gasoline tank nearing 600 gallons and a Wichita visible pump are being installed at the Jansen Auto Co filling station this week. The upgrade promises easier gas handling and improved measuring accuracy aided by a glass jar atop the pump. Free air will be available in front of the garage after completion.

Taxpayers shift wealth to tax free securities

R G Rhett, chairman of the Committee on Taxation of the U S Chamber of Commerce, notes a sharp fall in the number of Americans paying income taxes on 800000 or more from 1216 to 1918. He cites about 14 billion dollars in tax free securities, enabling at least two billion in taxes to be avoided.
