In a dingy cellar under a three story brick building at 220 East Ohio street the bodies of Pleasant Pruitt and his wife were found by their fourteen year old son. Officials say the husband killed the wife with knife wounds then shot himself in the temple. Neighbors heard nothing. the time of the murders remains unknown. The couple had long fought over finances and religious differences. The 14 year old son Jesse Berry reported years of trouble since their marriage three years ago. He discovered the bodies after returning from school about 4 30 PM.
