Market Fluctuations Mark Week in New York Stocks
In New York on March 22 activity was brisk with St Paul as the leader and Union Pacific in demand while Rock Island showed erratic moves. Wheat prospects for winter wheat offered a hopeful note though leaders remained uncertain. Bank reserves improved but cash drain troubled the mood. Despite some heavy movements in less active issues, the market closed irregular with firm undertone and widespread cautious speculation aided by anticipated and fading bank statements.
