Railroads See Passenger Earnings Boom Amid Pool Departures

A railroad earnings surge for passengers is noted by the Interstate Commerce Commission with gains across many lines from 1900 to 1910, despite trolley competition. Several systems report sizable increases, led by major roads such as Pennsylvania and New York Central, while mergers and new routes shape mileage and capacity. Notices also report new Mexican rail interests in Utah, local station projects in Muncie, and management shifts across several carriers as pools dissolve and reconfigure.
