E E Norris a St Joseph saloon keeper who disappeared reappears to testify against Stewart Fife in the murder trial of Frank W Richardson. Norris recalls Fife visiting his saloon around December and describes threats attributed to Richardson. Witnesses note Fife and Mrs Richardson seen together and Norris challenges prior grand jury statements.
Sam Pratt shot and killed two men and wounded a third in Lexington Tennessee on March 14. Pratt refused an invitation to join a drinking party alleging stolen liquor from his home. Tom Hancock died from a shot to the heart, John Linsey was shot through the head and died instantly. Neal Murray escaped unharmed as Pratt surrendered.
Invitations issued for the Buckingham Palace court in the ball room tonight but many invitees did not attend. Mrs Choate wore a Worth pink satin dress with a black velvet train trimmed in pink roses as the event replaced the drawing rooms and was described as very brilliant.
Investigators in Beaumont Texas seek a man named Smith linked to recent murders and disappearances. A former Sabine saloon keeper, he moved to Beaumont after an inheritance of about 10.60 and was said to carry nearly 10 000 in cash. He has a wife and relatives in Georgia, and is described as about 55 to 60 years old.
Grand Rapids reports Sheriff Chapman received word from Toledo of a young woman named Brown of Miller City Ohio dying under similar circumstances to Mrs Klump. She was driving in Leipsic Ohio when a sample headache powder was thrown into the carriage. She later took the powder and died of suspected strychnine poisoning. An officer will be sent to Savannah Ohio to investigate the product alleged to be from the manufacturing chemist.
Edward Boyle, a plumbers helper, rode a flood through a ¾ mile stretch of East Fifty third street sewer, hurled into the East River, rescued by a scow crew, and walked away after a shock, claiming only a need for a smoke. He described the torrent as three to four feet deep with water and filth and said he nearly drowned before reaching the river.
In Elizabeth City North Carolina testimony opened in the James Wilcox murder trial of Miss Nellie Cropsey. Coroner Fearing said the body lay in Pasquotank River near the Cropsey home with intact clothing and a limp dangling left leg. A skull contusion indicated unconsciousness from a blow before drowning. Crowds and rising attendance marked the session.
Christian C Nelson also known as Capt A N Freeland and John Anderson was arrested in San Antonio on a complaint by his alleged eighth wife Mrs Mary A Parker of Plattsburg Missouri. He was with his ninth wife married at Fort Scott two weeks earlier. He admits warrants in several states and has undivorced wives in Los Angeles Portland Plattsburg Fort Scott Salt Lake City St Paul and other places. He is about forty five years old.

At 4 am Chairman Elliott and clerks in Marion County courthouse room counted precincts from yesterday’s primaries. From about forty to fifty precincts heard, strong indications favored John C. Ruckelshaus as prosecutor, Henry Clay Allen and James Leathers as judges, Fremont Alford as criminal court judge, and several county officials including Cyrus J. Clark and Oliver P. Ensley.
