Portland Indiana February 11 After thirteen ballots George W Cromer of Muncie was nominated for member of Congress from the Eighth district. Wells county backed Cromer solidly on the final ballot giving him the required 67 votes amid a dramatic Randolph county delegation stand and Shockney Declares unity. Enthusiasm runs high as delegates gather in Portland for the convention.

Special train carrying 1700 Cromer supporters returned to Muncie at 7 30 PM amid cheering crowds and bands after the Eighth district convention.
