British minister W H D Haggard and German chargé d affaires Von Pilgrim Baltazzi left Caracas for Laguayra after delivering separate ultimatums on Venezuela. The British and German legations closed, a possible blockade looms, while Caracas hosts festival closures. Premier Balfour hints at joint actions, though texts differ, as Britain and Germany pursue claims against Venezuela.
Britain and Germany issued ultimatums to Venezuela with a time limit and threatened seizure of customs if a settlement is not reached. The notes, nearly identical, demand immediate action from President Castro's government and stress Venezuela’s ongoing disregard of representations. British minister Heggard moved to a warship, and the ultimatum was delivered at Caracas on Sunday.

In Missouri the Santa Fe California Limited derailed at Rothville killing Engineer Samuel Wise and Fireman Alexander Horvelin. one passenger was lightly injured and a waiter suffered arm injuries.
In Bemidji Minnesota the chair car on the north bound Minnesota and International Railway derailed in the yards at South Bemidji this evening and rolled down an embankment. Most passengers suffered injuries though none were killed and others in adjacent cars sustained minor hurts from the shock.
A Big Four switch engine struck a wagon at the crossing in Laura tonight, killing George Corner and Joseph Corner and fatally injuring John Corner. The Corner brothers were butchers living in Dayton.
A Frankfort special reports Governor Beckham honored Minnesota’s requisition to arrest ex Mayor A A Ames of Minneapolis who traveled to Louisville. Detective Mc Grugh accompanied the party. his identity remained secret until the papers were issued.
