The remains of Thomas Brackett Reed left Washington for Portland Maine to be interred Tuesday afternoon. A simple ceremony will be held with the body escorted by Mrs Reed and family. Presidents Roosevelt and notable officials called at Arlington House. The House will adjourn in respect after a condolence resolution is adopted.

Consul General Thomas Nast died today at noon after three days of yellow fever illness in Guayaquil Ecuador. He was interred at 5 o clock this afternoon with the Governor consular corps and American colony in attendance. Nast, born September 27 184 in Landau Bavaria, had a storied career as a political cartoonist and illustrator before his 1874 appointment as consul general leaving New York July 1.
