Big Horn Hot Springs Sale Agreement at Shoshone Agency
The 1896 agreement between James McLaughlin and the Shoshone and Arapahoe tribes cedes land at Big Horn Hot Springs Wyoming. Lands become a U S National Park with public use. sixty thousand dollars is paid in five yearly installments for civilizing education and subsistence. Per capita cash for some and cattle purchase options for other tribal members are outlined. The document notes ratification by Congress.
