Nu Lambda Beta Sigma Phi Holds Beginning Day Dinner
The Nu Lambda Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi marked the new year with a Beginning Day dinner at Chi Chi's Restaurant on Springdale Road August 25 at 6 30 PM. President Marcie Pace led the first meeting of the year at Harrison Community Center as Debbie Peter was named Girl of the Year. Debbie, active since 1981, serves as recording secretary and holds roles on service and ways and means committees while also chairing the ways and means committee and serving as Valentine Queen.

NASA workshop to anchor Hamilton County teacher inservice day
October 14 marks a NASA led inservice for Hamilton County districts at Princeton junior and senior high schools. Southwest Local School District will send 130 teachers to sessions with 2,200 educators from 18 districts. five NASA sessions run 8 30 a m to 3 p m, plus 33 concurrent sessions by NASA staff and local partners. Topics include micro computer laserdisc earth viewing careers in aerospace and wind energy among others. The event is part of NASA’s community involvement project to keep educators aligned with high technology.

Music Boosters Meet And Meat Orders At School

Southwest Local School District Updates Curriculum and Programs
South west Local School District expands computer education across all levels with a first computer purchased three years ago now in every school. New programs include Talented and Gifted Education for select fourth to seventh graders, career education in three phases, and an updated reading method combining word decoding with phonics. Next year will bring revised courses district wide under a graded course of study, with higher expectations for students and staff.
