Ohio House approves genetic testing in paternity cases
State Representative Dale N. Van Vyven backed Sub. H.R. 245, which became law June 29, changing paternity proof from blood tests to genetic testing and shifting actions to civil procedure. The bill allows any interested party to file, aims to reduce trials, and save taxpayer money. It also covers uninsured motorist changes and food service license fee reforms with Van Vyven cosponsoring H.R. 834.

Conduct of the Christian wife and husband duties
A Bible column discusses 1 Peter 3 1 6 and 7 urging husbands to live with wives in an understanding way, honor them as fellow heirs of life, and train children, while noting wives’ vulnerability. It urges daily appreciation, warns some husbands neglect headship, and cites Donald L Kaeser winning Army ROTC camp at Fort Riley while a Ball State student.
