Voters opposed to leadership changes faced increased taxes and reduced city services in Harrison. Claims include higher real and personal property taxes without voter approval, a 1 percent income tax enacted without consent, withdrawal from CD programs, no traffic light at Harrison Ave and Stone Rd, and neglect of recreation and senior programs. A 1982 Cincinnati Post survey rated Harrison among the worst deals in Hamilton County for taxes and police and street services.
