Dennis Palmer, a Harrison third grader, is pictured with a common cecropia moth. The caterpillar appeared in October as a fat green caterpillar with colored spots, grew to 3% inches, formed a cocoon in a glass container, and was kept in the school yard over winter before a multicolored moth with a wingspan near 5 inches emerged and was released in the courtyard on May 16.
A two car crash on Harrison Avenue in Whitewater Township sent William Man 22 in Harrison to University Hospital in serious condition and Bernard and Vera Fahrner both 70 to adjacent facility with Bernard listed as fair and Vera as serious. The accident occurred at 825 PM near Morgan Road and authorities withheld details as the investigation continues.
