Superintendent’s Comments Wrapping It Up
By the time you read this article we will have no more than nine days of school left in the 1983 84 year. As teachers finish the educational process they are exhausted and ready to replenish their nerves over the summer. Parents can plan three months of educational stimulus during the long summer. We have had another excellent year at Southwest and look forward to the next. Coach Bruce Williamson earned league coach of the year after leading his track team to second place. Mike Schiering and his girls won the league softball championship and he was named softball coach of the year. David Bader and his baseball team won the league championship amid a controversial ruling that caused tournament demise. Coach Bader’s mature leadership in the volatile situation was praised. Southwest is fortunate to have such adults guiding student athletes.
