Snow Hill residents suffer two weeks of disruption as the Snow Hill Road Covered Bridge remains closed. Cars churn dust on the gravel approach from Seeley Road, with some drivers racing along the straight Crossroads stretch, though some are considerate. Mrs. W. H. Terry notes neighbors aided by oiling the road but issues persist.
An 18 year old Ronald T Dunbar of Sunman was killed in a one car crash on North Dearborn Road about 6 a.m. The vehicle left the road and hit a tree near Tanners Creek Bridge. First reports about a different person named Fields were corrected. Harrison Life Squad and University Air Care responded. Fields reportedly suffered a severe head laceration and broken pelvis requiring 100 stitches.
Robert Wooldridge plans a second retirement after 14 years as Southwest Local School District treasurer. A May open house at the district office celebrated his service, with dinners and parties. Born 1913 in Kentucky, he served in General Patton’s 3rd Army and later delivered reports on time despite audit pressure.
