Miamitown Memorial Day tribute honors Howard Gieringer
Memorial Day in Miamitown featured a tribute to Captain Howard F. Gieringer of the 82nd Airborne, with presents by Rev. Baughman and Rev. Mansfield, a rose for his wife Betty, and thanks from veterans and locals. The event noted smaller crowds, clowns delighting kids, and a hospital update on Betty’s father. A later piece honors Carolyn Lieb as First Lady of the Year by the Beta Sigma Phi sorority for fostering foster and adopted children.
