Ohio Adopts New Standards for Teacher Education and Certification
The State Board of Education on December 14 approved unified standards for teacher education and certification to take effect July 1, 1987. The plan, based on 16 months of work and public input from 8,300 people, tightens requirements, merges certification and education standards, and increases coursework and assessment.
