Medicare premium rises to 13.50 for 1983 84 period
The monthly premium for the Medicare medical insurance part increases to 13.50 for the July 1983 to June 1984 term. Robert M. Martin notes beneficiaries pay about a quarter of costs while the U.S. Government covers 75 percent from general revenue. Medical insurance expenditures are projected to rise from 17.3 billion to over 20.3 billion dollars, with eligibility extending to most 65 plus, kidney failure patients, and long-standing disability beneficiaries.
