The Hamilton County Park District conducted its Eleventh Annual Winter Bird Survey across sixteen parks on December 10. About 90 volunteers braved dense fog to tally 60 species and 8,833 birds, the second highest total in eleven years. A sawhet owl was found in Mitchell Memorial Forest, echoing a prior sighting in Miami Whitewater Forest. Volunteers at Richardson Forest Preserve and Miami Whitewater Forest noted nine evening grosbeaks, and many bluebird boxes contributed to a rise in bluebirds.
Airman Jack R Johnson son of Jerry R and Mary H Johnson of Cleves Ohio graduates from the U S Air Force aircraft electrical repair course at Chanute AFB Illinois.
