Best Show In Town Opens In Harrison
On Wednesday August 20 the Lions Club held a day long event outside Harrison on North State Street to display a railroad car serving as the club’s new permanent service car. The 132,000 pound 10 by 84 foot car with 49 seats was moved from tracks to a foundation near the K of C and Gun and Conservation grounds as spectators watched cranes lift the car from its tracks. The project, modeled by Amtrak in 1971, drew donations for the eye impaired and featured two large cranes in the process.
