Wood Carving Becomes Serious Hobby For John Cannon
John Cannon of 9902 Baughman Road turned wood into lifelong craft after apprenticing in cabinet making in 1971. He carves furniture, plaques, and figurines at home, with a rocking horse for his daughter Krista as a Christmas goal, inspired by carousel horses and refined by guild guidance from the Cincinnati Carvers' Guild. His best work is a wooden chalice for a priest, and he focuses on three dimensional pieces with lifelike detail including a glass-eyed horse face.
