Cedar Grove and Deerflein Hardware Store History
The Cedar Grove narrative tracks its plattings by John Ward in 1837, canal era growth, early traders like John Conner, and the rise of the Deerflein Hardware store. It notes the Doerflein family founding the shop in 1872 and continuing service through 1950, with local firms, churches, floods, and a resilient village economy shaping its century long hardware enterprise.
