Local Students Named for State Finals and Sports Honors
William Kaiser and another clarinetist from the district reached the State Finals of the Music Auditions at Ohio Wesleyan University on April 21. Walter Harold Studer was selected for Bright High School's All Star Basketball game on June 1 in Versailles Indiana. Beverly Ann born to a local couple at 1:15 AM. Delta Kappa elected Ernest R. Smith as vice president. Golden wedding anniversary observed for Howard L Haisley and Mrs Phillips.

State park campsites reopen May 14 with equipment list
Necessary equipment will resume at eight Ohio state parks on May 14. Campsites rent for 7 dollars per night for a 9 foot tent setup including a dining fly and 105 square feet of space with two cots two sleeping pads an 80 quart cooler a picnic table a fire extinguisher a propane stove a battery lantern a tent entrance mat and broom. Harrison Lions Sponsor Tri-State Bowling Tournament
The Harrison Lions announce the first annual Tri-State Bowling Tournament to be held in early June at Cliff Zimmers Harrison Bowl. Proceeds go to community causes in Harrison Ohio and surrounding area. Lions Clubs from three states are invited to participate and meet fellow members.
