IRS imposes 10 percent withholdings on interest dividends
Beginning July 2 1983 payers must withhold ten percent of each interest or dividend payment for federal income tax or credit. Exemptions apply to certain taxpayers who file certificates and meet income or filing status tests. The IRS notes withholding may ease quarterly estimates and has minimal effect on interest accrual. Certificates of exemption are required from payers and individuals with multiple payers or accounts must coordinate exemptions.

The 318th grade will tour Washington, D C from April 21 to 24 led by Mr Westrich and Mrs Tompkins. An 8th grade dance is set for May 20 at 7:00 PM to honor graduates. A book fair runs April 11–18 to stock the library, and The Pink Panther play, starring Mark Tregesser, is on April 22. IQ tests were April 11–12 with May 26 standardized tests ahead.
