A seventeen year old, Herman Shulzee, was accidentally shot in the right lung by a .22 caliber bullet during a mark shooting game with friends. Doctors say he will not recover. He is the son of Bryan Shulzee of the city.

A long standing feud between Irish and Italian miners in Hazelton erupted on pay day with 155 Irish and German workers attacking Italian houses. Hand to hand combat broke out using stilettos and knives, several Italians killed or wounded, including leaders. Town crime scene drew crowds as 5 Italians died and many injured on both sides.
Information from the Sandwich islands reports a brutal massacre of three May Anderson boatmen. The men were wounded, tied, taken to another island, traded for pigs, and killed in a cannibal feast. Native assailants carried out the atrocity in savage circumstancess.

Odilon Menard, his wife and their infant were struck by a train while crossing the tracks in LaLemM Massachusetts this afternoon. The man and child died at once and the woman is believed fatally injured.
