J Bently of Taraugus County New York declares he suffered a liver ailment and could not find relief. After using five bottles of Discovery he recovered, weighing 183 pounds before illness and 130 pounds after sixty days, urging others with similar symptoms to try the remedy promptly.

The copy claims strong cleansing and disinfecting properties for sinks and paints and lists Philadelphia as a source, with Ell Clarke as commissioner in St Paul Minnesota.

President Wilson says the city will vaccinate nearly 2,000,000 people through a day and night force. By Friday night 500 pupils were vaccinated at night schools and nine inspectors worked six more schools. Immunization covers hotels, New York Infant asylum, and public institutions on Blackwell's and Ward's Islands. Wall Street workers to follow.
A rear-end collision near Bridgeport, West Virginia, involved Barnum's circus trains in five sections. The heavily loaded first section moved slowly when a second, lighter train crashed into it at twenty five miles per hour, telescoping two sleeping cars and injuring about a dozen, with one fatally. Names of the dead and injured include Frank Everett and George Gilmore of New York among others. In New York, Rev. Dr. Philip Schaff, renowned biblical scholar, died at age 84 after paralysis. He was born in Coire Switzerland in 1819 and rose to prominence as a church historian and exegesis authority.
In Washington on October 21 Senator Voorhees gave notice of a rules amendment. It allows any senator to move to set a time for voting on unfinished business after thirty days of debate. The motion would be nonamendable and nondebatable if approved, directing a vote at the fixed time. The senate then moved to executive session. Morgan introduced a bill to collect debts owed to the United States from government aided railroads and to hold directors accountable.
Detroit report updates Frank H. Smith of Ft Plains New York, badly injured with crushed limbs, likely to die within an hour after amputation, raising the death toll to twenty seven from Friday night's collision at Battle Creek.
Springfield Missouri, October 21. An attempt to hold up the Frisco passenger train that left Fort Smith at 4 05 Friday morning failed when a freight train proceeding first was mistaken for the passenger. Five or six officers boarded the following passenger train but no attack occurred.

In Monroeville Indiana, heavy fog caused a collision on the Pittsburgh Fort Wayne and Chicago line as west bound No 25 waited for east bound No 4. Twenty five passengers were injured including several fatally. Engineer Cowan and Fireman Daily were among the injured. The tender of engine 190 penetrated a coach rear car, amid wreckage and derailed coaches.
The ways and means committee reviews taxing native wines amid treasury talks. Native wines, previously untaxed under internal revenue, have grown in importance nationwide, especially California, and could fund government revenue if taxed at a light rate.

In New York on Oct 24 capitalists owning the New Jersey Central railroad near full control of the Delaware Lackawanna and Western. At February annual meeting they will complete possession. Lackawanna stock once owned by Charles Platt now held by Maxell and associates who originally held a large block from the McLeod deal. They control a substantial portion of the $26,200,000 capital stock.
Edward Farrar, ex Toronto Globe editor, in Montreal as a paid US envoy to gauge Canadian sentiment on a reciprocity treaty. He reports Democratic interest and plans to press cabinet ministers to raise the issue at the next session, targeting commodities like corn barley and possibly fish.
Oct 24 report describes the collapse of the Gorman crafted compromise after a Woodley meeting between the president and Secretary Carlisle. Affected senators including Vilas McPherson Palmer White of Louisiana and Gray balked, Voorhees faced pressure, and a closure motion surfaced though unlikely to pass. Sherman attacked the plan, Carlisle was recalled, and the administration rejected the compromise.

Jeffersonville Ind October 24 John White Gibson Clark Grandison Cosby Mortimer Yarborough James Stone among those said to have murdered the Wratten family arrived at the Prison South Sunday evening. Each prisoner in a separate cell with guards the only observers. Stone has broken down and the group fears a mob hanging if returned to Daviess county.
Martin Foy, aged twenty six, was electrocuted at 11:50 am in Danemora for the murder of Henrietta Wilson in Saratoga on May 15, 1892. Warden Shrader read the death warrant. His brother and father visited, all three weeping. the father steadied his son to face the chair.
In Valparaiso Indiana at midnight two thieves tried to rob the post office. Policeman Willoughby ordered to surrender and fired back as the robbers shot. Blood trail over five blocks the next morning hinted a wounded suspect. It was the fifth burglary attempt this year.
Coroner Gillette began an inquest into the Chicago and Grand Trunk wreck victims in Battle Creek Michigan. Train dispatcher Seth Cornell engineer Gilbert Cranshaw and fireman Fred Gorman were examined but yielded no new details. All but eight bodies have been identified and will be placed in a vault at Oak Hill cemetery Tuesday.
D G Ramsey, grand chief of the Order of Railway Telegraphers, accused of instigating wire cutting and obstruction of the Burlington Cedar Rapids and Northern telegraph system during the September 1892 strike. He was indicted by Linn county grand jury at Marion and bonded $1,500 for appearance after arrest in Winton.
Trimble Oct 23 Wim. Draper was struck by a falling tree limb at Ferndale Saturday morning. His skull was fractured and he was rendered unconscious. Recovery seems unlikely.
Grand Forks North Dakota reports three inches of fresh snow since Monday morning as a winter storm continues. Briton South Dakota sees heavy snow since morning with two inches on the ground. Minnesota towns also report a severe storm bringing hail rain and snow.
Constantinople dispatch reports the sultan paid 5000 pounds to a French savant for two Turkish epistles attributed to the Prophet Mohammed. Authorities tested them and called the documents authentic. The find could revolutionize the Mohammedan world.
Memphis report notes Stratton and White of Fort Worth filed a deed of trust for 100000 with 50000 preferred. The Commercial's Fort Worth special calls it the largest failure the city has seen, marking a significant economic setback for local electrical and general implement dealers.
New York Oct 24 John P Brooks longtime head of the New York and New Jersey division of the treasury secret service died of apoplexy Monday at his Newark New Jersey home No 274 Walnut Street He had recently refused appointment as head of the entire department.
In a dance gathering near Athensville Newfoundland and Labrador on October 24, a fight led to William Griffith fatally shooting Martin Flynn and Dennis Flynn. A stray bullet also killed 12 year old Robert Wyatt. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
