In Troy New York on the 21st a fire and a powder can exploded in Nelson Lewis's gunshop wrecking the store. W. K. Lewis son of the proprietor was probably fatally burned while the proprietor was badly cut by flying glass. Also noted are dismissals in the naval service and various accidents and public notices.

A November 21 blaze at a four story brick building at Calender and Mason streets, housing Melvin's Le Joly dye-house and Robins on manufacturing jeweler, forced about forty workers to jump from windows. Two women died, Mary McSorley gravely injured, Thomas Mann died later, and eighteen others were seriously hurt. Emma Garrett aged twenty three and Bessie Cobb aged six were rescued by firemen.
