Steubenville, Ohio reports its 200th homicide after Gaetano Checca, 40, is killed by Giovani Iachifucca who shot him while fleeing. Checca had allegedly been too familiar with Mrs. Checca. Iachifucca escapes custody.

A blaze on Exchange street at Sawtelle's hotel left one man dead another dying and a third in serious condition at a hospital. A score of guests narrowly escaped, with extensive damage reported to the hotel.

Spencer North Carolina November 25 Leon Brown son of Frank A Brown of Spencer was bitten in Mt. Pleasant while visiting grandparents. A madstone owned by Mrs H F Dorsett of Lexington was applied. The stone adhered for several hours and relieved swelling. The child is believed to recover.
Cumberland Maryland November 25 labor unrest sharpens as business declines. Nearly 100 workers discharged by Consolidated Coal Co last week in mining regions amid acute labor tensions and reduced activity.
