Six people drowned in the Tennessee River near Stevenson Alabama when a boat capsized. The group included ferryman Tom Key and his son, two African American women Lane and McCurdy and their children, a white man Short, and two other Black individuals. Mrs Key witnessed the deaths from the opposite bank and was driven to madness.
A large gas vein on Hon. J. M. Poe's farm near Cleveland ignited by a drilling engine caused a massive explosion. The rig and tools were destroyed. Injured are John Keith and B. Fink. Gas burns at an estimated eighteen thousand feet per hour and flame is visible twelve miles away.
ConcorD reports a slight earthquake at 12 30 this morning followed by a heavy shock sixteen minutes later. The second quake lasted several seconds and rattled large buildings with a rumbling noise. Shocks were felt across various parts of New Hampshire.

St. Louis November 25. Thomas P. Dunn a soldier of Troop B Third Cavalry suicided at Fort Leavenworth yesterday. He was twenty one, from Detroit, and had recently learned of a near relative's death.
A clergyman, his wife, and child were traveling by sledge near Kis-Loaka when a pack of wolves attacked. The father killed two wolves to protect the child, but both he and the child were killed. The mother, in terror, dropped the child. The horses fled, and the family suffered casualties.
A 20 year old man was publicly executed at 1 o'clock today in SavaNAB Missouri for a revolting crime. He left a penitential letter for publication and admitted guilt. Twenty thousand spectators traveled up to fifty miles by wagon to witness the event. The murdered victim's family sat in front rows.
Mrs H Ultman and four children on Warner street were poisoned by cod fish balls fried in cotton seed oil. All are in critical condition with eminent doctors attending. Suspected mislabeling at the grocer may have led to the poisonous oil. Children ages eight eleven and fifteen. Mrs Ullman a widow. The mother has been unconscious since noon. Doctors say all may recover.
Lynchburg Va November 21 Local papers report the fatal scourge with brief notes and stronger figures from Wise County where 150 deaths occurred. The illness hits Wise Lee and Buchanan Counties as rains refresh foul water blamed for the outbreak. Doctors call it acute typhoid dysentery.
Advices from Tonquin report French gunboats attacked near Tu Yen Quen as Song Kan forces retreated. A major cholera wave hits Bey and Toleste with dozens dead in hospitals and on the streets. Berlin reports a merchant named Max Haren visiting his mother in York.

It jumped the track near Thirty-sixth Street, ran along the sidewalk for a block, horses pulling the car fell, and both horses died. Twenty-three passengers rode the car and were bruised. Two riders, Thomas Moore and Roller Maltby, were seriously hurt.
The Congressional Committee, touring Pittsburgh steel works, viewed facilities for heavy gun and ship armor production. City officials pressed Pittsburgh as a National foundry site, praising local natural advantages. The committee, hosted by business leaders at the Duquesne Club, plans to move on to Johnstown and Harrisburg the next morning.
