Captain Hattie Smith of Oskaloosa Ia, wounded, awaits critical care. The deaths occur during a major Salvation Army gathering led by La Marechale Booth-Clibborn and Commissioner Ballington Booth.
PittsparecH November 16 Trustee John Duss issued a statement dispelling rumors that Dr Cyrus Feed of California seized Economite Society finances. Duss says Feed failed to obtain funds and sought moral support instead. Finances remain in safe hands with the board of elders and no single member can control the society’s millions.
From Big Isaac Doddridge county reports say South Penn Oil Co. found the richest gas well in West Virginia near Clarksburg. The gas roars for seven miles and nearby families fled homes fearing disaster as the earth trembles like aftershocks. Experts estimate pressure near high levels.
Baltimore reports twenty five steamships chartered to load grain for Europe. Average 90,000 bushels per ship totals 2,250,000 bushels with berth room engagements adding 750,000 more. Overall engagements reach 3,000,000 bushels for the week.
Memphis on November 16 reports John H. Cocke a local capitalist was accidentally killed ten miles from the city while bird hunting. A gun discharged while he was climbing a fence tearing the top of his head.

They backed equal pay for women and women’s suffrage, approved open fair Sundays with six workdays max, and declined endorsements to ban liquor on fairgrounds. A narcotics proposal was sent to a committee.
Thomas C Boolan alias Clayton escaped from Nashville jail after a staged supper. He left with the jail key, slipped past the cook Jim Streeter, and bolted down Front Street toward Broad, about 600 yards ahead of pursuers. Boolan had been brought from Atlanta six days earlier as Hubbard and Stratton were moved to St. Louis.
In Hanover Indiana on Saturday evening a large number of two to six inch catfish were found on the ground near Jeffersonville Clark county after a heavy rain. The same event occurred in eastern township on Monday morning. It is believed the Ohio River fish were drawn out by the sun and gathered in shallow areas.
Plymouth New York November 17 Almy or Abbott the murderer of Christie War den pleaded guilty on Monday fading a cloud of uncertainty into a confession and prompting a swift resolution in the case.
