The supposition is that both lied instantly leaving the question who died first for sure. A drawn out contest in New York courts is the prospect.
Alliance Ohio Nov 11 The oldest postmaster in continuous service in the United States resides in Hammondsville Jefferson county twenty five miles east of Alliance He is W H Wallace eighty two years old and has served in Uncle Sam's employ for sixty three years appointed during Andrew Jacksons administration He is credited by Adams Express Co as oldest agent in their employ and is the oldest station agent on the Cleveland and Pittsburgh railroad since 1852.

He warns against contract labor for sugar plantations noting no sugar without such labor.
LyNeuHBURG Ohio November 11 Henry Steritz a wealthy farmer about 54 on his farm three miles north of this place killed himself with poison. He left home Monday morning and returned none Monday night. A search began and Thursday found a small vial near him. He had recently been sued for 10000 dollars and it is believed the lawsuit contributed to the tragedy.
Peebles Ohio November 11 The third trial of Sylvester Howe charged with murder of James Shaw on Twin Creek eastern county ended when Howe pleaded guilty to murder in the second degree. Judge Davis sentenced Howe to life in the penitentiary as Howe wept during sentencing.
In Barnstown Kentucky on November 14 a mob blew up Evans the rape fiend's home Sunday night. His aged mother wife and children appeared Monday morning, causing relief among locals who feared further violence. Mrs Evans said they fled Saturday to escape possible harm. whether the mob knew this remains unclear.
Dr. J. A. McMurray petitions the court of common pleas seeking a receiver to take charge of the McMurray Marion Institute. He states the business does not pay and asks the institution be closed. Defendants named are J. H. F. Browning John E. Bolander and A. P. McMurray corporate partners.
The memory of Justice Blatchford was honored at the U S Supreme Court session on Monday. A set of resolutions read by Atty Gen Olney were adopted by the court bar, followed by Olney's address praising Blatchford's abilities as a man and judge.
MASSILLON O Nov 11 The board of trustees of the new Eastern Ohio Insane asylum met here and found progress satisfactory. They approved estimates totaling 5000 and projected completion in two years with total cost not exceeding 700000 An appropriation of 250000 will be asked of the next legislature.

Frank Mitchell a prominent farmer was seriously injured in Portrsmouth Ohio after being struck on the head by a large rock during a Tuesday assault by Jacob Nelson. Marion Nelson, brother of the attacker, had been arrested earlier in connection with a granary robbery. Nelson fled and remains at large.
Denver dispatch reports United States Marshal Gard, who tracked down Son Tag and Evans last summer, has arranged with Gen. Cook to capture the Apache Kid, for whose arrest a $10,000 reward is offered. The Kid is currently in Arizona.
Columbus Ohio November 10 James Ross the elected sheriff is dangerously ill with three physicians in attendance. The illness is attributed to overwork and mental strain, marking him as the county's only winning Democrat in the recent election.
Returns from all Nebraska counties show Harrison, Republican, with 72,579 votes, Holcomb, Populist, 65,507, Irvine, Democrat, 37,604, Rittenbender, Prohibition, 1,450. Hacken's plurality stands at 7,242.

Mrs. Chris Grimm was thrown from a buggy when a runaway horse dashed away in Bucyrus Ohio. She struck a tree and suffered several broken ribs and internal injuries.
