Berlin dispatches report Chinese rioters destroyed the German mission at Lien Chow near Pakhoi. The Iltis gunboat, reinforced by marines from Tsingtau, sails for Pakhoi with a British gunboat expected. Disturbances also flare at Pakhoi. Five American missionaries were killed at Lien Chow on October 28, 1905, and indemnity was paid by the Chinese government in January.

May 28 in Swatow Kwantung a rebellion erupted at Wongkong Uping Chin Chu prefecture. All civil and military officials were assassinated and their yemens burned. Local revolutionists joined by neighboring natives attacked unopposed. The military commander mobilized guards and moved toward the scene. Local police plan to curb excesses while Chinese bankers organize a steam launch patrol to deter coastal marauding pirates.
Bluffton Ohio couple Mr and Mrs John Fenton both wait death hoping to die together for a final double funeral. He is 83 and she six years younger. They have been ill long and prepared a double casket and arrangements are nearly complete. They have lived here all their lives and are highly respected citizens.
Edna Wilson wife of George M Wilson and head of the Kiralfy Babes in the Woods troupe drowned herself in a Bryden hotel bathtub. Body found with head submerged and towel over face. Coroner silent on motive. troupe engagement at Olen tangy Park theater canceled after tragedy. Wilsons said to be from Pittsburg. Audience disapproval halted performances.
New York reports four Presbyterian board of foreign missions workers stationed at Lien Chow. The group includes Rev. John S. Gunkle returning after a furlough in England, Rev. Rees F Edwards his wife, and Mr. Elda Patterson. Home addresses are not accessible and no new detail about local trouble has reached the board.
Patrick Landers aged 50 of Urbana was crushed to death at Pence and McConnell livery stable when corn and oats fell from a long stacked crib. A heavy beam blocked the floor causing the collapse and 590 bushels of corn spilled during the incident.
Mrs Rosa Vurez was shot and killed at her Westville home by Henry Germier who then shot himself in the temple and is dying Germier, a boarder, returned intoxicated after being told to seek another boarding place and opened fire in the May 28 incident in Danville Ill
An agitated workman identified as Germany attacked about six coworkers with a shovel during the morning shift at a pipeline construction site near Findlay Ohio. Several men sustained injuries though none were described as life threatening. Police investigated the incident and questioned witnesses.
Henry Lamb, a young man from this place, shot and killed himself after drinking to excess. He could not lift a beer glass without losing part of its contents. Lamb recently inherited a small fortune and spent much of it in riotous living.
A severe snowstorm sweeps the upper lake region while a winter blizzard grips the Saginaw valley. Cadillac reports five inches of snow with more on the way, Petoskey records six inches, and snow fell on Monday at Jackson and Kalamazoo.
In Ottawa Ohio both sides push for local option results after Spencerville vote the wets claim defeat and a new saloon is planned on the west Leipsic outskirts. Meanwhile dry advocates circulate Beal law petitions in Delphos and Bluffton where temperance has not held.
An unknown tramp believed to be George Mack, about 70, was decapitated by a northbound D T and F E railroad train at Columbus Grove. He was likely sleeping with his head on the rail and did not hear the approaching locomotive.
In San Francisco on May 28 the police detained M. Tugimova Niki Keiporo and S Hamada for a murderous assault on Horace Hazell a young dentist and Randolph Merriweather an electrician. The attackers were armed with knives.
In Boston on May 28 a general wage increase for New England cotton mill workers affects about 85,000 operatives, boosting pay by roughly 10 percent.
In Bowling Green Ohio at midnight Mrs. Greenfield dug at her deceased mother Mrs. J P Oates grave calling loudly for the mother. Oates had been in an asylum a year but was brought home improved before dying. The daughter was overwhelmed by grief and found no comfort.
Mrs Charles Got schall of Harrisonville was assaulted and beaten by two men dressed as women while alone with her children. She is likely to die from injuries. The assailants escaped in Gallia County, Ohio.
Dan R. Hanna of Cottage Hill farm plans a gray granite monument for Bapton Diamond the imported bull and centerpiece of his short horn stables. The dedication honors the animal once a standout in Ravenna D.
Montevideo reports the Norwegian bark Nagpore of 1,177 tons under Capt. Gjeraldsen was wrecked in a storm and declared a total loss. Eleven crew members were drowned in the disaster.
James Frieze confined in a sanitarium applied to the court for release contending his mind is sound and that he is the rightful husband of Alice Roosevelt Longworth. He also claims Nicholas Longworth is an interloper and should be shot.

Fremont Ohio. Joseph Baker a farmer lies at death with gunshot injuries after accidentally triggering a shotgun trap set for corn thieves in his brother’s corn crib. He had gone there to check on corn and apparently forgot the trap was loaded.
Elkton Maryland on May 28 saw four blazes in the business district during the early hours. Each fire used kerosene, leading to belief an arson attempt to burn down the town was underway. Authorities investigated the incidents as separate fires in rapid succession.

The Milford township election on local option passed. Four saloons operate in the area with two in Collinsville and two in Darrtown. Darrtown voted wet by 10, while Collinsville approved a dry majority of 37.
Kalamazoo Michigan reports William McKie a local druggist who vanished last Thursday is believed to have murdered his mother in Bright Ontario and then killed himself Sunday night.
A sixty mile per hour windstorm swept Findlay’s northern section damaging Buckeye Traction Ditcher Co. buildings and other structures. Loss estimated at 1500 dollars.
Charsley Ross of Van Wert drowned while fishing near the Auglaize River traction bridge. He stepped into a deep hole as he walked by the water and was swept under. He leaves a widow and three young children.
