In San Francisco on May 20 and 21 Mrs. McKinley showed progress, sitting up briefly and stabilizing after a higher fever earlier. President McKinley remained at the family residence, with no definite date set for travel to Washington, while couriers from Europe sent in well wishes.
The Pan-American Exposition was formally dedicated in Buffalo on Monday with a grand procession from the city hall to the grounds.
